Tell us the date.

The fastest way to book is a message. Tell us the date, the venue and roughly how many people — we’ll come back with what it takes and what it costs.

What to include

Send these four things and we can usually answer in one reply.

  1. 01

    The date

And whether you need it the night before.

  2. 02

    The venue

Indoors, outdoors, hotel, home — it changes the sound.

  3. 03

    How many people

Roughly. It decides how much sound you need.

  4. 04

    What you already have

So you don't pay for gear twice.

About the Party & club

We know which one you’re asking about — fill in the event details and we’ll come back with availability and a price.

A rental is a delivery to a place on a date — we confirm those by phone.

“20th Dec” or “a Saturday in March” is fine.

Delivery is priced by distance.

We use this to answer your enquiry. Nothing else.

Renting

How do I rent DJ equipment in Sri Lanka?
Choose your gear, then message us with your dates. We confirm availability, take a refundable deposit, and deliver and set up on the day. DJ GEAR LK rents Pioneer club equipment — CDJ-3000 players, DJM-A9 mixers and all-in-one systems — from Battaramulla, with delivery islandwide.
Do you deliver and set up the equipment?
Yes. Delivery, cabling and setup are included islandwide. We soundcheck the rig before we leave and collect it after your event.
What deposit do you take, and when is it returned?
A refundable deposit is held against the equipment and returned at check-in, once the gear comes back in working order. The amount is shown on each gear page.
How far in advance should I book?
Book as early as you can for weekends and the December–January wedding season, when the fleet goes out fastest. Midweek dates are usually available at shorter notice.
What happens if something breaks during the event?
Tell us immediately — we would rather fix it than argue about it afterwards. Normal wear is on us. Damage from misuse is charged against the deposit, and we show you the fault before anything is deducted.
Can I rent for more than one day?
Yes. Multi-day hires are quoted per booking rather than as a flat multiple of the day rate — tell us the dates and we will price it.
Do you rent speakers and lighting as well as DJ gear?
Ask us with your event details. If we do not carry an item ourselves we will tell you plainly rather than take the booking and improvise.

Price

What changes the price of a DJ equipment rental?
Four things: which gear you take, how many days you keep it, how far outside Colombo we deliver, and whether you need us on site for the event. Everything else is fixed.
Is the deposit part of the rental price?
No. The deposit is held separately and returned to you after the equipment is checked back in. It is not a fee.

Academy

I have never DJ'd before. Where do I start?
Start with the free first lesson of the Rekordbox 7 course. It assumes nothing — no gear, no software, no theory. If you want to practise on real equipment, rent the same deck the course is taught on.
Do I need to own DJ equipment to take the course?
No. The course is taught on the same fleet you can hire, so you can learn first and rent the gear to practise on rather than buying a controller you may outgrow.
How long does it take to learn to DJ?
You can mix two tracks together in an afternoon. Playing a room confidently takes months of practice. The course is structured so each lesson leaves you able to do one new thing, rather than front-loading theory.
Can I rent the equipment I am learning on?
That is the whole idea. The academy teaches on the fleet you can hire, so nothing in the booth is unfamiliar when it matters.
Can I learn to DJ in Sinhala?
Yes. The DJ GEAR LK academy teaches in Sinhala, starting from no experience and no equipment. The Rekordbox 7 course begins with loading your first track and takes you to a clean transition. Lesson one is free.

Events

What DJ equipment do I need for a wedding?
For most Sri Lankan weddings of 150–300 guests: a player-and-mixer setup or an all-in-one system, speakers sized to the room, at least one microphone for speeches, and a backup for the music source. We deliver and soundcheck it before guests arrive.
Should I hire a DJ or rent the equipment?
Hire a DJ if nobody in your party wants to run the music. Rent the gear if you have someone who can — it costs less and you keep control of the playlist. We do gear; if you need a performer we will say so rather than pretend otherwise.
Do you cover outdoor events?
Yes, with planning. Outdoor events fail on power and cabling more than on equipment. Tell us the site and the power available and we will tell you what it needs.
